Together, We’re Raisin’ that Floor!
OK. So maybe it doesn’t sound as good as “Raisin’ the Roof!”. But the ultimate goal certainly does.
Since 2005, the ROC at CUMC has been home to Upward Basketball. Thousands of players and families have moved up and down our courts. In that time, we’ve seen countless practices and more than 2,600 games. Nearly 15 years later, the tile floor in the ROC is starting to show signs of all the good uses that we have put it through—with tiles coming up in certain places and the adhesive loosening in others.
So now, it’s time for an Upward style UP-grade!
Over the next several months, we are seeking to raise funds to replace the current tile flooring in the ROC with a stronger, more durable, and—most importantly—safer court for our players. This new court will have more of the look and feel of a real hardwood court with painted—not taped!—court lines.
Our goal is to raise a grand total of $40,000 over the next 3 months to support the demolition of the current tile and lay down the new court by the end of August. This will make the ROC ready to go for the 2020 season evaluations beginning in September.
But in order to make this vision a reality, we need your help! All donations are 100% tax deductible. And gifts of any size will be gratefully received and greatly appreciated.
